The Greeks unite and send a massive fleet and army, led by their greatest warrior Achilles, to defend their honor. This movie was awesome and bad-ass... until the end ... and it sucked.

A good movie that pulled off the epic pretty nicely. Pitt and Bloom were excellent choices.

Looked like a great epic, but came out being an average mash-up of better films.

An intense story that is weighed down by the reliance on unrealistic overuse of CGI. What passion and intensity that would otherwise be present in the Greek story is erased by the constant bombardment of special effects.

Although not very faithful to the Greek mythologies, the film brings supercharged cinematic stunts that I'd consider trailblazing. A great recipe of high caliber cast: BRAD PITT (as ACHILLES), ORLANDO BLOOM (as PARIS), ERIC BANA (as HECTOR), DIANE KRUGER (as HELEN), and the non-fading PETER O'TOOLE (as KING PRIAM). I just didn't realize that you can wander away that far from the original manuscripts considering it to be an epic film. Obviously, there seemed to be an absence of the magical powers of the gods. Come to think of it, the gods were not even that involved at all. Also, the real TROJAN WAR lasted for 10 years against the film's portrayal of a few weeks. The film, nonetheless, was a smash hit!

I thought this was a great movie. I love greek mythology and this movie tells the story of "The Illiad" (great book as well). There are 3 love stories embedded in this movie. 1. Helen and Paris. 2. Achilles and Briseis. 3. Hector and Andromache. The overall story is about the war between the greeks and the trojans. I'm not a huge fan of Brad Pitt, but he did a awesome job playing Achilles and Eric Bana was great as Hector. If you like epic stories, you'll love this movie.

This had the potential to be one of the best movies i've ever seen, and Brad Pitt was perfect for the role of Achilles. What i didn't like was the overall directing. It had pretty good effects, but the vision of it made it look like it was made in the '80's. There wasn't really enough fighting either, and the main fight seen should've been bigger. The only thing i liked is that it was easy to follow, and it's overall just a good story

The men in this flick are so fine. The story itself wasn't amazing.

I wasn't really expecting much of this movie and so I wasn't surprised that I didn't really enjoy it. The performances were reasonable, especially from the ever watchable Eric Bana. I think the main problem was that it was too long. To drag a film out for about 2 1/2 hours when most people know the story is a bit of an ask, I often found myself losing interest in the (ridiculous amount) of characters. Wolfgang Peterson can always be depended on for spectacle and he totally delivers but it isn't enough to keep it going. Overall, the battle scenes are well-worth a looksee but I suggest renting it so you can fast-forward the strained dialogue and overlong parts.
