After the ice caps have melted a man has adapted to the world around him where Dirt is traded for food, water is scarce, and there is talk of land to live on. This movie has awful acting from Kevin Costner and the cast but Dennis Hopper is the only good actor in the movie.

On one hand it is bad move, on the other one it is movie about cities on water, and that is one great idea. Well it is quite entertaining so i'll give it...

Lots of big budget setpieces and action sequences that are impressive, but Costner can't act to save his life and that just underlines the inherent silliness of the Waterworld universe. Dennis Hopper seems to get that the movie is campy, hamming it up in the lead villain role, but everyone else plays this dull action film fairly seriously.

Known more for its incredible budget and under-performance, Waterworld isn't the complete turkey people make it out to be. It's not spectacular, but at least it's original and interesting. It could have benefited from a 30-minute cut.

Interesting plot can't carry dumb action scenes throughout the movie. The amazing part about this film is that they spent 175 million to make this movie and grossed under 100 million. What a waste.

I like this movie because it has an original story and some tiny details that make me believe. Hopper is a hoot and Costner is above average. With some good action sequences and some interesting characters, it outweighs it's down parts.
