On Stranger Tides is a better movie than the third movie "world's end". But this movie has a lot of slow and pointless scenes.

Yes, this movie is predictable. uninpredictable is impossible when it's part four. I don't care this movie has a lot to offer; action, humor an a sort of a story. We can not forget that Pirates of the Carebean put the pirate movies back on the map. And a lot of thanks go to Johnny.... Jack Spaarow is the pirate everyone wants to be.

this movie was quite boring at the beginning and then got a little better in the middle and ended up being not too bad, but these movies are getting too predictable, of course there was going to be a battle with the redcoats at the beginning and of course sparrow(johnny depp) was looking for something and of course someone else was looking for it as well. i dont know if i can honestly handle another one of these films, but rumors are that Tim Burton could direct the next film so he could add a little bit of a darker twist to these films which i definitely wouldnt be opposed to

Seeking for the Fountain of Youth, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) with Angelica (Penelope Cruz) and her father Blackbeard (Ian McShane) explore the seas, meet mermaids, jump off the cliff, trailing with Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and the Spaniards. *** It won't be a waste of time watching this one, so I recommend it. The story can never be smarter and deeper, but I swear, this would give you entertainment, entertainment by Johnny Depp, of course. Though there were lots of "huh?" scenes, not bad at all. The whole picture will still keep you watching this fun adventure.

This film can be reviewed is one persons name and that name is Johnny Depp. He is one of the best actors alive today it is hard to find a film i dont like him in as again Johnny maanges to pull this film off amazingly. The plot is spectacluar and the acting great. It would of been nice to see more of Keith Richards (Who Johnny has based Jack Sparrow on) in the film. Penelope Cruz was a very very good choice for this film if not a suprise

Pure awesomeness. That's the only way to describe this movie. It has awesome action but the plot needs a little work. Jack, as always is just funny, and not serious...

Good continuation of the Pirates of the Caribbean series following Jack Sparrow. This movie looks like it is starting a new story line different from the first three movies, so perhaps there will be two more, completing a second trilogy. The same great performance comes out of Johnny Depp, and Penelope Cruz doesn't quite fill the boots quite as well with her character as Keira Knightley did with hers. The movie is entertaining from start to end and it will be one of the better movies for 2011. Be sure to watch it.

A good entry in the series, and a definite improvement over the previous two films. Johnny Depp is still good as Capt. Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush still rocks as his frenemy Capt. Barbosa, and Ian McShane and Penelope Cruz are welcome additions in this new chapter. If there's one drawback, it's a drawback that's similar to the other films - every character seems to have their own storyline, though it's toned down significantly here. Rob Marshall takes the director's reins this time and delivers. If you've been a fan of the series you should enjoy this, and if you were a little wary due to the previous two films, take note - this one is better.

Not overstuffed with characters and confusing plot, like the previous two films, but still not up to the same caliber of fun. A light adventure that just provides more of the same.

A disappointing cash-grab of a movie. There's a lot to dislike in this movie that just sees the leads going through the motions for a quick paycheck, but, most importantly, Jack Sparrow does not work as a protagonist. He has no direction, motivation, or drive in this film and that gives little for the audience to care about. Some elements works, such as Ian McShane's ferocious villain and the terrifying mermaid sequence, but, mostly, the film is a combination of empty action and plot elements, all shot without any life or interest.
