A terrifying and downright disturbing horror flick that also works as a portrait of teenage anxiety.

This isn't horror because it's dated but for a 1970s movie is it pretty good. I could only watch it once though. Sissy Spacek is phenomenal

"There going to laugh at you". Shy, isolated Carrie White has an embarrassing experience in the girls' shower at school, at the same time discovers budding psychic powers. As one girl reaches out to her at school, another plans a bloody revenge at the school prom not realizing the devastating consequences it will have. This movie shows what happens if your bullying a girl that has super powers.

Provocative, thrilling adaptation of the Stephen King bestseller. Top knotch acting and direction. Under dogs will cheer for Carrie during the fiery prom scene, now legendary.

Sissy Spacek's performance is what pulls this film out of 70's horror schlock, as she convincingly plays a disturbed and ridiculed girl. She plays what might amount to a film villain by some and yet, by her vulnerable performance, manages to create a level of sympathy. Also, early John Travolta sighting!

One of the better Stephen King adaptations. Sissy Spacek is a perfect choice for Carrie and the supporting cast is also good. Plus it has one of the best endings - the first time seeing it is a true shocker.
