I thought I knew what it was about based off the synopsis. But it is actually something radically different. And I appreciate that.

I mean, that cheeseburger looked good. I wanted one after the movie. ‘The Menu’ is a darkly funny black comedy; dry enough for something like the Coen Brothers movie. Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy, Hong Chau and Nicholas Hoult were excellent in this, especially Chau and her annoying haircut.

A gastro-satire that will have you busting your gut while giving you plenty of food for thought. Ralph Fiennes shines as the renowned chef who has been pushed to the limit - coming up with a final, memorable menu and Anya Taylor-Joy, as always, shines as the odd woman out who must think on her feet when she realizes the danger. The rest of the supporting cast - Nicholas Hoult, John Leguizamo, Judith Light, Janet McTeer and Hong Chau among them, round out a strong lineup that gives the film a nice extra seasoning. Sink your teeth into a biting satire that's - a tasty treat that will make you smile and recoil in equal measure.

"The Menu" is a wickedly funny, wholly unpredictable, and thoughtfully biting satire of fine dining and art-house snobbery, strengthened by the sheer gravity of Ralph Fiennes' madman chef.

Undercooked, but still rather delicious at times. Plays better in the mouth if you accept the central conceit of the chef instead of questioning why it is you're not eating something more filling.
