"Hoosiers" has such a keen understanding of small town America and the love of basketball culture, giving it a more genuine feel than standard inspirational crowd-pleaser fair.

One of the definitive sports movies. At times, it is a little coincidental and cliche, but it's impossible not to get caught up in the tension and triumph of the final game. The sheer excitement when the come-back in the championship game begins is unequaled. And that soundtrack...

This is simply a inspirational sports movie with underdogs and various people being positively effected by the team. This movie is completely standard but it works well and is well made. There are absolutely no surprises but it is well made and well acted.

As someone who used to play on a high school basketball team called the Indians, I can assure you that I heard all about this movie as a kid. I loved it then. And I love it now. Great movie.

A lot of feel-good sports films owe a debt to Hoosiers. This is enjoyable without getting too sentimental and features some pretty keen basketball. Anyone who doesn't enjoy this film has no heart.
