People can feel free to s**t on this movie all they want. I, on the other hand, will enjoy a fun and wild installment of the Die Hard series.

Although Live Free and Die Hard presents some unique additions to the franchise (particularly the bad-ass Mary Elizabeth Winstead as McClane's daughter,) it lacks the freshness of the first film and the brutality that characterizes John McClane's brand of action. It's still a fun thrill ride with some clever callbacks to the series, but it feels somewhat like a watered down, sleeker and slicker version of the gritty franchise.

Numerous computer hackers upload programs they were paid to code to a woman named Mai Linh. She creates a computer outage at the FBI Cyber-Security Division in the J. Edgar Hoover Building. NYPD detective John McClane is assigned to bring a hacker from Camden, New Jersey, Matt Farrell, into FBI for questioning. The gadgets and stunts were amazing, some however somewhat unbelievable like the one sequence on the jet. It was a treat seeing Kevin Smith as Frederick "Warlock" Kaludis, Farrell's friend the computer hacker. The antagonist was not vicious enough and it relied on technology more than the characters. Live Free or Die Hard is a decent action picture despite a few unrealistic sequences.

Some seriously over-the-top action and unnecessary plot mechanics make this a cartoon of what the series was. Still, it has a certain 'guilty pleasure' aspect to it.

Live Free or Die Hard is a hard hitting film that does gives you everything you would expect in an action movie. Good Direction by Len Wiseman and a Good Script mixed with Fun Performances makes for great entertainment. Bruce Willis is as good as he's ever been and his character is still fun to watch. Justin Long is funny as his sidekick offering many laugh out loud dialogue. The Underrated Timothy Olyphant is good as the bad guy but his reasoning behind his madness is rediculas. Maggie Q is a lot of fun as Mai, Olyphants partner. Kevin Smith is funny in a small role. The film offers wonderful chase scenes, Explosions and Fight Sequences, It is very smart and funny as well. A very well done sequel.

Let me just start by saying that I have a lot of nerve rating and reviewing this movie, because I haven't seen the whole thing. With that being said, I sat through the first 10 minutes of this movie and turned it off. While I was watching it I was saying "Shoot out in 3, 2, 1..." "Explosion in 1, 2, 3" "Crazy stunt in 4, 5, 6..." I get it, that's what an action movie is; and, don't get me wrong I love a good action movie. A GOOD action movie. This one, however, bored me so badly that I couldn't even get through the first 10 minutes. So, maybe if I can get through the first 10 minutes I may have a better review, but I don't see that happening.

Better than I expected. Of course it was way over-the-top but I still love John McClane. Very action-packed.
