It offers more of the same as the first one, and that's a good thing.

Chimera is a deadly disease created specificity for a cure when Super Spy Agent Ethan Hunt is sent to Aussie to find the creator and trader before it's released. This movie is just too over the top governess but the movie as good action.

Highly stylized action scenes, but lacking most of what made the first so memorable and entertaining.

The best part of the movie is the opening scene, which features a stunt of stunning proportion. The rest is a mess - silly dialogue, a silly villain, and action sequences that aren't engaging, which is uncharacteristic for a John Woo movie.

It's probably the worst of the three in the series. But, I still like it.

Action: 2/3 + Comedy: 0/2 + Good vs Evil: 1/1 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Special Effects: 0/1 + Plot: 0/1 + Music: 1/1 = 5/10 or 50%. There is a typical sequence to a series that denotes the second should be the action packed and "enough of this character development" piece. There is also a pattern to Woo films where the main hero yields two hand pistols and is an unstoppable kung-fu tank with high-tech gadgetry. One gets this here, but the first MI set an unusual precedence for a new spy style, and this sequel sets everything back to typical. Ethan goes from a "so bad I have to be good" spy to a "watch me do front wheel flips on my motorbike" he-man. Boring and to note it again: typical.

Way over done. Not nearly as good as the first or third.

This movie was dumb from beginning to end. I started laughing almost from the beginning as it was obvious that there would be no real plot, just stunts and Matrix like cinemetography to follow. What were they thinking???

This was definitely the best mission impossible out of the three. The first one made no sense at all and was just a bunch of random action events. The second one was cool, logical, and I think I saw it twice. I had no interest in the third mission impossible, but chances are they couldn't replicate the success of this one.

More action, much less substance, and left me feeling empty John Woo is a great action director, but he relies on that aspect a bit too much. The murky, hard-to-follow plot takes a back seat and the film suffers because of it.
