When it's striking at horror sequels and their cliches, "Scream 2" is almost as good as the original. But when it isn't, the movie drags and stops being either funny or scary.

Entertaining sequel to the hit slasher that holds up better than it should. Even if a character doesn’t have much screen time, most of them are memorable. There’s even some social commentary on the media’s treatment of violence in popular culture. There’s more winking meta humor than the original. Whether that’s on purpose or not to mock the trends that sequels do become softer, I can’t say. Scream 2 is a fun horror sequel with some suspenseful moments. But the original does fare better thanks to its more acerbic wit and darker tone.

This movie takes Two years after the horrifying murders in Woodsboro, Sidney Prescott is haunted once again by tragedy when she sets off for college. A film version of her life is being made while a new killer begins to terrorize her and her friends. This movie has still got all those cliches that has been to done to death in other horror movies which is the weak part about this movie.

Look! Wes Craven is really clever because he is aware of his own feeble plot devices!

You might not think this sequel would be as smart as the first, but it actually works. Just as fun as the original - and has another nifty twist as well. Horror films aren't often known for being smart, but the first two Scream films buck that trend.

Jamie Kennedy is more featured here and brings a boost to this sequel, which, though, not as smart as the first in the series, features enough thrills and scares to be an entertaining horror film.

One of the best sequels I've seen. Every bit as awesome as the first movie. That opening scene is so twisted-ly brilliant and the rest of the movie never stops delivering the fun and scares.

Scream 2 is one of those movie that is way better than the original. Scream had a good plot that redifined fear, and Scream 2 was just incredible! It was scarier, funnier, and it has good well-known actors. Wes Craven again directed it which is awesome, because well as we all know he's the master of suspense. The characters are well developed, and the plot is so fucking awesome. Scream 2 was the best in the whole series.

I love the Scream films, but I'd have too say that this one, although still good, is the worst of the series. Still a good film though.
