The subject matter makes "The Children Act" into a great conversation starter, even though the pedantic writing prevents it from being a great film.

I felt like there was something deeper in the story that was not visually presented in this film. Great acting by the cast. How is Stanley Tucci doing great despite having small roles? It was good but I'm afraid this film could easily be forgotten.
