WE ARE VENOM.

VENOM feels almost like a throwback to late 90s/early 2000s superhero movies like Spawn or Daredevil. Neither of which are titles that any film from any genre should wish being compared to. It's darkly lit, the action is frenetic, the tone shifts from zany to dark real fast, and the CGI is inconsistent. Venom himself looks fine but the other creatures look like out of a bad video-game. The acting is all over the place from paycheck performances by Riz Ahmed and Michelle Williams to the film's centerpiece that is Tom Hardy as Venom. He is outstanding and is committed 110 percent to this role. It's mainly because of Hardy and the film's go-for-broke attitude that made me enjoy it far more than I was planning. And at ninety minutes almost exactly, it's an easy if disposable sit.
