PT Anderson's period-comedy-drama is well acted and it looks gorgeous. It does have a few slow moments though. Bradley Cooper is funny in a brief appearance as real-life mogul Jon Peters. Alana Haim is quite good in her film debut. While it does seem heartfelt at times, it cannot help but feel self-indulgent.
