The DCEU continues its slow demise with the disappointing sequel to the surprisingly charming 2019 superhero movie. This feels like a first draft of an idea for a sequel. We see these evil
Greek goddesses up to no good, we see Billy Batson in a crisis of confidence, we see his foster brother fall in love with the new girl in school, plus two or three other storylines jumping around. It’s a shame because I really like the original Shazam movie.
I will say that it is not annoying or obnoxious or even a bad movie but it’s very inoffensive and bland. It’s just under two hours and it could have easily been ninety minutes instead.
