A modern-day western with an all-black lead cast may sound like it's some liberal wokeness wet dream.... but if you want some action mixed in with some actual historic (though not necessarily historically-accurate) people - disregard the trolls and have some fun. The cast is the best part - from the knock-down, drag-out fight between Zazie Beetz and Regina King to LaKeith Stanfields laid-back, fast-drawn killer to Idris Elba's presences - there are so many good beats here. While the modern music thrown in was a big jarring and the film takes a while to really get going, it's otherwise a great western and should be enjoyed as such.
