Three Kings review

Troy Barlow (Mark Wahlberg) has just been recognized on television and became a father. Major Archie Gates (George Clooney) fools around with a journalist and discovers a certain map that interests him. Staff Sergeant Chief Elgin (Ice Cube) is a religious soldier who used to be an airline baggage handler. The three together with the aid of Private First Class Conrad Vig (Spike Jonze) and Specialist Walter Wogeman (Jamie Kennedy), find out a secret that could change their lives.
Direction was skillful utilizing hand-held cameraswith Ektachrome transparency stock techniques and had excellent character background. A film of maltreatment of civilians, family, violence of war, death, compassion, violence of war and false hopes, it also mixes drama, wonderful action and comedic moments. Soundtrack was well thought of while the performances, though nothing groundbreaking, was respectable. Some of the lines felt Hollywood and conclusion somewhat unbelievable if it happened in reality while other characters felt too moronic to be a soldier. Nevertheless, Three Kings was well researched, properly casted and entertaining with some moral inclinations despite its serious themes.
