Pineapple Express review

This should be viewed without any expectations and just let it ride. Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) is a process server who accidentally witnesses a murder of an Asian guy. Ted Jones (Gary Cole) and Officer Carol Brazier (Rosie Perez) were responsible for the killing. Denton then runs to his dealer Saul Silver (James Franco). Starts off a bit slow then picks up after Dale explains his concern to Saul and go on a wild goose chase much like the comedies of the 80's and concept similar to The Big Lebowski. Screenplay just brought out the humor and hints of philosophical lines such as: Red - ""What we do in this life echoes in eternity!" Dale - "Don't you wanna get up and do somethin' about it?" and Saul - "Safety first, then teamwork." Topics on friendship, realities of life and maturation. This critic feels that this was much funnier than Superbad with its spiffy camera work and cool soundtrack. Despite some awkward moments with some looney characters, Pineapple Express provides the laughs that borders on comedy/crime genre with a touch of action in the near conclusion.
