This movie touched on some moral gray areas. It was a good mystery, but when eveything came to light I thought to myself "Oh geez, really? Ridiculous" It was just too much.

Wow..Never did i know that Mr. Affleck was a director. This movie was somewhat kinda like the departed with the whole cops and boston thing going on. But while watching it, the movie was a little confusing at the end but had a good plot. I rate this movie a A-.

A film directed by Ben Affleck may have once caused me to avert my gaze and weep long into the night, but after watching Gone Baby Gone I am convinced he has the good touch. Moving, though-provoking, even intelligent. A novice makes good.

A fascinating character study with richly-textured characters and a script that provides plenty of emotional and moral dilemmas. I think the point it's trying to make is about making choices, not whether they are right or wrong, but about making them and living with the consequences. A brilliant directorial debut for Ben Affleck and well-cast across the board. Final Grade: A-

This film has some the the most powerful and effective moments I have seen in many years. The whole movie in general has the perfect tone and unbelievable emotion. I did get a bit upset as toward the end, it strays a bit from the emotional, and tries to turn into a crime thriller with twists and turns that just seem distracting to the point of the movie. Overall its most effective when it looks deeply at it's characters and really makes you feel what they are going through. Kudos to both Afflecks, however, I didn't feel like Casey was quite right for his role, and didn't play it as well as a more experienced actor could have. Congrats Ben on a great film. Who knows, maybe Tom Cruise will make a movie now after this.

The movie was good but nothing really pushed it over the top. For the first 1 and half of the movie it was only worth 2 and a half stars but the ending pushed it over to get a 3 star review. I think the only thing that made things movie good was the twist at the end. I don't think casey affleck is really all that good of an actor so overall the performances were pretty mediocre. The only one I really thought high of was ed harris. The story seemed to change too much that it was trying to be to many stories rolled up into one after the end the only thing I can say is "eehhh, that was ok."

A not too bad stab for a first time director. I still don't like him and he is no where near as good as George Clooney or Denzel W. as a director. At times it was as good as "Seven" and at others, it was as bad as a "Law and Order" episode.

Two things made this movie stand out, one is great direction and two intense acting from Casey Affleck. I really was wowed by the fact that Ben Affleck could actually direct something as good as this, he can now put director in his resume. The pace was a bit slow but manageable. The characters did their part as well as they should. The story was dark and certainly captivating, conspiracy type of films are right up in my alley. By the way I really think that Michelle Monaghan look like a young Liv Tyler. Overall I’m looking forward to Ben’s next directing job, he's not acting anymore does he?

Ben Affleck, without a lot of fanfare and noise, directs a gritty thriller that surprised me throughout. One of my students complained it was basically an extended episode of CSI, which I don't watch, but I thought this was a very engrossing and well-done film. The basic plot is an investigation into a kidnapping in the Boston area, which impacts how a lot of things are done. There are a number of great performances in this film, notably from Casey Affleck and Ed Harris, but Ben Affleck directs his first film like a pro. Highly recommended.

Who knew that Ben Affleck could direct so well? Very deftly done, Mr. Affleck.
