Very likeable fish out of water comedy as Brendan Fraser's 50s throwback experiences the highs and lows of modern day LA. A great cast (Christopher Walken displays a great comic touch as his paranoid father) shore up a flimsy script built on a strong premise and go through the inevitable misunderstandings of the word "gay".

Fraser is good and the movie has enough charm to entertain.

Historically accurate and thoroughly entertaining and well acted, this is the kind of movie you can see a million times. Fraser at his best. And what could go wrong with Sissy Spacek and Christopher Walken as Fraser's *literally* out of date parents? This film is genuinely funny, with fun music and just enough corny humor. It's truly a classic.

One of my favorite Frasier films! Brendan plays an innocently adorable 35 year old who was raised in a fallout shelter. As he's exposed to a modern world that he knows nothing about, he falls for the world-wise cynic, Silverstone. Walken and Spacek are charming and funny as his parents. I was pleasantly surprised by Silverstone. A cute, funny, romantic film.
