An amazing film starring an up and coming huge star Ryan Gosling. people hated the film forbeing an art house , but I'm sue glad it was.the film is not about action,it's about the character's eotions and their deisions throught the film.I really do recommend this film,it is amazing.A film that deals with these characters in a way that is hard to explain.amazing film.

I couldn't get past the awkward dialogs throughout the movie, it's like the screen play writer had writer's block for the dialogs between characters. Caused a big lack in character development, and to the story some too. The directing was good as well as the score, but I couldn't stop comparing Drive to The Transporter, which was a thousand times better.

An edge of your seat, highly intense action film that takes a bloody twist right in the middle of the film. My only complaint, what an awful soundtrack. I get it...he's a hero, he's a man, or whatever, blah blah blah. This film was very good, and a great running time, just under two hours. The way most should be. The acting is superb. Rent this now.

Superb performances all around with a story that is quiet, intense and wholly believable. How this missed out on major awards, I don't know. There's brief but very brutal scenes of violence, but they play right into the story and characters. The soundtrack is a little strange, but I'll allow it as it matches the tone. Highly recommended.

i'll just quote another user because he captured perfectly what i want to say: 'It had atrocious pacing, long pauses that built no feeling, they were just for no reason. Seriously, I'm not usually one of those people who criticizes movies for being slow, but when the slowness isn't fitting, it just seems like the movie could be compressed to 1/3 of its length and make an amazing short.'

the best parts of this movie are in the trailer. just watch the trailer and you have seen the movie. i found myself just waiting for something to happen during the whole movie. and Ryan Gosling as a tough guy didn't work for me at all!!! if Ryan Gosling told me he was going to " knock my teeth down my throat". i would laugh at him. then beat him so bad, he would have a reason to walk though this movie like he was on Thorazine.

I really enjoyed this movie, with a simple but profound story. Making us imagine what was going through his mind.

An effective thriller that balances style and substance. Ryan Gosling proves once again that he is capable of disappearing into his characters, by giving a portrayal of a quiet, but deadly getaway driver. The film contains some brutal action scenes, but it's more about the quiet resolve of Gosling's character and the film finds a way to portray great emotion within silent and subtle sequences. I also enjoyed the brilliant synth-heavy soundtrack and the film's use of well-known actors disappearing into grotesquely villainous roles (Albert Brooks, Ron Perlman, et al.)

The slow pace and moody soundtrack provide some great atmosphere and help the brutally violent scenes pack more of a punch. The film strikes an emotionally charged core thanks to the actors, especially Gosling, who manages to convey all of his character's emotions with less words. This was a surprisingly good film. Stylishly well done.
