As another reviewer said, it's basically a blatant rip-off of Forrest Gump. Even some of the imagery is the same, such as the hummingbird flying through the air instead of the floating feather. Some of the effects are good, but at almost three hours long it could be shortened a bit.

a fantastic movie. An amazing, gripping story of a man who was born old and must live his life growing younger. Throughout the entire film you almost cant take your eyes away from the screen. It was a very original idea and the entire cast and the awesome visual effects made the whole movie worth every second in your seat.

I thought this was a really nice story. The make up and acting were amazing. This was definitely one of those stories that keeps you interested from beginning to end. I couldn't give this a higher star only because I felt like I couldn't understand what happened to him. I wasn't clear on why he was aging backwards and what the connection with the clock was. Again, it was a lovely story, and a bit of a sad story. It makes you think about your own life and the people around you. I just needed a little more explanation. And it was a tad long.

An interesting story, great acting and very well executed. The only reason I give it only 3 stars is because of how slow the story unfolded. Though not too many scenes could have been eliminated entirely, I feel that they could have been shortened. There were several scenes or situations that felt like they went on and on and this really slowed down the movie. If this could be trimmed down closer to the two hour mark it would be a much better movie. Still, there isn't much not to like because Director David Fincher really did a great job at telling a story. Check it out or maybe wait to see if there is a shorter DVD version that comes out.

Action: 1/3 + Comedy: 1/2 + Good vs Evil: 0.5/1 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Special Effects: 1/1 + Plot: 1/1 + Music: 0.5/1 = 6/10 or 60%. While the make-up and age effects are superb, as well as the concept of aging in reverse, Fincher has no excuse to fall so in love with panning shots and a monotone, boring, 3 hour narration that one is driven to wish they could have the ability to reverse watch this.

One of Brad Pitt's best performances in years highlights this interesting tale of a man aging backwards. Throughout his life he meets an interesting array of people that help build and shape his life, none more so than his true love Daisy, played well by Cate Blanchett. Story is interesting and the cast is superb...but, I have to be honest, at 2 hours, 45 minutes the film does drag on. It's framed by a flashback device similar to The Bridges of Madison County that for me really got in the way of the real story. Poor Juila Ormond - all she's really given to do is sit on a bed and read a book. Other than that, it's a good cast that does well, it's a good story, just some minor drawbacks keep it from being great.

A film that really got me thinking. This movie takes what seems to be a healthy man, aging him backwards, examining his experiences. Full of solid well interpreted characters, interesting plot and theme, and enough emotion and drama to reduce you to tears. Something about this movie makes everything feel so different, and so unordinary, probably because when I left the theatre, I had wondered, maybe he didn't live life backwards, and if he did, don't we all? Definetly one of the best films of the year, if not the best. Certainly contends for an abundance of awards, no matter the academy, this one delves straight into the concept of life, and births something brand new. FINAL SCORE :::: 84% ::::
