A saavy but world-weary political journalist settles on a story involving a woman looking for the son she was forced to give up after she became pregnant and was relocated to a convent. This movie is heartbreaking and moving. the actors steal the show in this film with Judi Dench and Steve Coogan are the highlight of this film.

'Philomena' tells a heartbreaking true story with strong conviction. Though, the outcome is anything but upbeat, the film still manages to leave a pleasant feeling. Some lighter moments are placed perfectly throughout to highlight the endearing nature of the main character Philomena. This makes the emotional scenes all the more effective. Dench and Coogan are terrific.
