The Giver doesn't take much time away from you.

Based off the acclaimed bestselling children's novel, a triple threat for drawing audiences these days, this adaptation of "The Giver" grapples with heavy concepts like love, death, sadness, and loss through the lens of a Y/A dystopia.
It doesn't always stick the landing but there are some surprisingly effective scenes with haunting implications;it's rated pg-13 but contains infant euthanasia (?!?). The cast is okay but you can see the beats coming with most of the characters And admittedly, I kept forgetting Meryl Streep was in this whenever she appeared. Jeff Bridges is pretty good as the wise mentor.
It's a short watch at about 90, 95 minutes and there isn't much in the way of action. It's much more of a drama but the message remains a solid one.

And that’s how “The Giver” begins. In slight nondescript gray …

Much in the same vain as divergent and a host of other movies. this movie is set in a world where people live without certain feelings and enjoy a sameness lifestyle if they take their daily injections.
for some odd reason the elders choose to give someone the gift of memories and makes him a reciever.
for which he see's things he has never known war death love kissing fear etc. he soon realizes they are all missing out and sets out to restore their humanity.
this was a very boring movie nothing really happened. then it ended., none of them seem to feel love etc but yet they play games and so on it makes no sence and is tottally illogical. the ending was so easy so simple and so pointless. the scenes looked tacky it just isnt a good movie at all. the only thing good was the scenes of …
