My favourite show growing up was always Monty Python, and when I was seven, I watched the Holy Grail. Now, I love Monty Python, and I love the tale of King Arthur. If you put them together, what does that equal? Simply two words: Comedic genius. This film has some of the smartest humor and the most quotable dialogue I have ever seen or heard, ranging from the famous Black Knight ("'tis but a scratch) to the wedding scene in which the clueless Lancelot (John Cleese) in an attempt to save a princess kills all the guests of a wedding, to the classic Bridge of Death Scene (Ahhhh!). The humor is timeless and clever, such as the coconuts and the the Knights Who Say 'Ni!'. A timeless classic that will leave everyone in laughing fits on the floor.

One of the best comedies of all time! This movie gave me my taste for British comedy -- it's so over-the-top and smart. The lines are so dang funny, I laugh my head off every time I see it. Watch it at least the first few times with the subtitles on.

In conclustion: This witty comedy left me laughing the whole way through. It is an excellent twist on the Middle Ages. I would suggest this movie to especially intelligent individuals that enjoy a good laugh. From African Swallows to the rude French, this movie will make you crack up.

I first discovered this at about 18 through some classmates, and credit it with getting me into more "older" comedies.

Such a 'boy' movie. This is my 'The Film I Hate (and want to destroy)' movie. I think I saw it one to many times with my high school friends.

Certainly one of the most quotable movies ever and one of the quirkiest and most intelligent comedies that comes to mind. If you don't have fun while watching this than you are not human.

Terry Gilliam and Co. are really talented people. They're masters of the irony and the sarcasm, and black humour. They do the thing perfectly. The movie is a parody of holy grials films, even with horses that doesnt exists or monsters made of paper. The used surrealism and symbols are present too, and everything turns out to be a fantastic journey with an ending that's beyond hilarious and crazy.

This movie is amazing. I remember the first time my dad introduced me to this film as a child, and I think it has shaped the sense of humor I keep with me today.

Some reason I remember this movie being funnier the first few times I watched it, but I just saw it again not to long ago, and it just wasn't as good.

Endlessly quotable, uproariously funny and one of the few movies I can watch over and over again and never be bored. Yes, it does help if you're a nerd. From coconuts to peasants to plague victims to witches to killer rabbits to black knights to French taunters - each scene seems completely random yet the whole comes together and makes for a most entertaining film. Not everyone will like this type of comedy - but I for one will never get enough of it.
