This biopic of lauded American general George S. Patton is an admirably warts and all depiction of one of the leading figures of the Second World War. Through a commanding performance by George C. Scott, Patton is not only shown as a charismatic, supremely self-confident and wily military tactician, but also a judgemental, self-aggrandising, tactless and undiplomatic glory hound who was often more interested in a game of oneupmanship with his fellow allied commanders than beating the enemy or the welfare of his soldiers. The story of General George S. Patton (George C. Scott) in various battles in American II Corps in North Africa, Allied invasion of Sicily and Battle of the Bulge. He is a General with a conceited, vain attitude mixed with exceptional strategic battlefield tactical concepts to win battles. George C. Scott's astounding performance really made the film a classic to watch. The cinematography is one of the best scene on screen because of the different locations utilized. The score was likewise memorable. Its technical in terms of screenplay and focuses on the General's sometimes absurd comments that affects his brilliant career. Some nice quotes from the picture: "All my life I've wanted to lead a bunch of men in a desperate battle. Today, I get to do just that." "An entire world at …
