Quippy thriller about a vaudeville comedian wrapped up in WW2 espionage. It’s basically a Hitchcock movie redone as a screwball comedy. The best gag is perhaps Madeleine Carroll (The 39 Steps) spoofing her own femme fatale persona in a fun performance that complements Bob Hope’s one-liners. His penguin sidekick is just adorable.
