One of my favorite movies of all time. This is Scorsese's stylistic masterpiece, a mob drama based on the real-life rise and fall of half-Irish gangster-turned-informant Henry Hill. The performances are amazing, as well as the cinematography, the music, and ...(read more)the dialogue. And let's not forget the narration, possibly the best use of voiceover I've seen in a film.
So many memorable scenes: the Copacabana Steadicam shot... the "Layla" montage... the entire May 11th, 1980 sequence... Henry's ending monologue... Even after seven viewings, I'm still not tired of it. 5 out of 5 stars from me. Oh yeah, and Joe Pesci is a funny guy.
