One of the best sports and biopics to grace the screen. Robert De Niro became Jack LaMotta, figuratively and literally. Method acting became a household term which also comes with sacrifice, De Niro had to gain weight and loose it throughout the production of this film. Its one of many pairings with Joe Pesci, who also did a splendid job with his character. The movie represents that humans can make mistakes, the abuse of power and married life. Has one of the finest, realistic fight scenes on a boxing ring. A treat to watch if your in a mood to see somebody suffer from making huge imperfections in their lives.
