Why an Oscar nod?

Sadly, one of two movies that got Cary Grant an Oscar nomination (the other also undeserved for None But the Lonely Heart). A sappy, melancholy movie which quickly turns from light comedy to tragedy. Not altogether believable, and indifferently acted. Final Grade C+
