If they would have followed the actual video game AND made it rated R AND done a better job of casting... maybe it would have turned out better. I think even Eli Roth knew it was a losing proposition when he bailed to direct Thanksgiving (a pretty good throwback slasher IMO). I can't wait to stream this and hate-watch.

This is the best film I’ve seen since Roma a few years back. To get the best out of it, see it at least twice. The last half-hour is incredibly moving: the trip to Hokkaido and the final scene of Uncle Vanya with the Korean sign-language.

Not what I expected but still good. Reminds me of Neil Jordan ‘s, The Butcher Boy. Cinematography and music are great and acting is on point.
