I just didn't get into this as much as I would have liked. The casting is excellent and the film has a clear messaged but I just never really connected to the film. I can certainly see why this was so popular but the impact just wasn't there for me.

The film quickly and suddenly goes into mature themes, where the narrative shifts to gender roles in society, mostly on women.

But as soon as the line "Do you ever think about dying?" drops, you are in for something different. Weirdly enough, this reminded me of The Lego Movie, and what is even stranger is that it stars Will Ferrell.

One of the most amusing parts I got from the movie is that the film …

A strong "no" to patriarchy

DEPART - wrote on 08/15/2023

Here we have 114 minutes which from the first second to the last is filled with merciless blows against the patriarchy. A patriarchy that Stereotypical Barbie (Margot Robbie) and her Ken (Ryan Gosling) discover when a glitch in the multiverse starts to "break" Barbie. She looks for a way to solve it and finds it thanks to Weird Barbie (Kate McKinnon). She tells her that she needs to go out into the real world and find the person who needs her. Only then will the wound she has opened be closed.

As ridiculous as the premise that the main plot begins with Stereotypical Barbie stomping her feet and heels on the floor seems, take some time to think about it. Barbie may have revolutionized the world, but at the time she was released, a woman wearing a flat shoe in the US was weird. It was …
