likeable cast but forgetable movie

A pretty average film about a group of soldiers with the task of getting back the art that hitler has been hiding and stealing during the war. with george cloony and a group of other fine actors its hard not to like it.
But there is something missing in this movie. none seem like people who are that interested in art for a start. and there lacks any real togetherness between the characters. none of it rings true and not much happens really..
also its very corny in places , very american and old fashioned in its portrale the kind of cornyness i hoped hollywood would stop making.
There is a bit of wit and humour though in places and like i said its hard not to like due to the actors involved but its not a very good film. iit doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. whether to be light hearted comedy or serious and fails because of it. there seems a big loss of direction with what was intended .or maybe it was edited badly who knows.final verdict is its a ok film but pretty forgettable .
