This film was a very well-rounded saga. First and foremost, it addressed ideals of a world terrorized by outside forces, a comet that has the potential to destroy much of the Earth in an incredibly devastating cataclysm. However, this film is set apart from movies like "Armageddon" by how human it is. The story is complex, yet much of the complexity comes from the human interactions, not necessarily the attempts to destroy the comet, but how everyone else has to deal with the consequences of the rescue operations. A wildly wonderful film with great performances by Elijah Wood, Tea Leoni, Morgan Freeman, and Leelee Sobieski. Powerful stuff.
