VOD thriller trying hard to evoke the Bogart-Bacall movies from the 1940s.
It’s admirable but unsuccessful. Impressive cast is mostly sleepwalking except for perhaps John Travolta. The final twist I honestly did not see coming. It very much looks like a television show. Oddly enough, Morgan Freeman plays the heavy and gets away with his crimes(?). That was weird.
Best and worst thing about this movie is Brendan Fraser playing the Peter Lorre role as a creepy doctor. It’s so far removed from his other performances yet it did make me sad seeing him like that. I hope he does better in the future.
