Shinya Tsukamoto will always give you something different - in this case it's a black and white journey of one man trying to digest the suicide of his girlfriend by becoming obsessed with a particular gun (a S&W Chief's Special). Unsavory characters - a harsh world and plenty of violence - it's a Japan you don't often encounter.
