it's hillbilly sacrifice and woe to the backwoods denizen who goes against the will of "the pit". The setting is unique - reminding me of why "Deliverance" is such a haunting picture - as a group of families live by their own rules and, in order to heal all their ills, make sacrifices to a bubbling pool of mud - that is delivered via Jug - yes, a man is given visions of who is to be sacrificed and fashions it into a ceramic face (with handle). Moonshine not included. It's a bit silly, but the conviction is there.
