An effective contrast

I liked it way more than I hoped for. The best thing about this film is the use of CONTRAST. A cinematography that refuses to be taken seriously and an editing and music that are deliberately distracting perfectly compliment the authenticity of the story and costume and set designs with on-point performances by a reliable trio of Stone, Weisz and Colman. Despite the playfulness of these cinematic aspects, it was successful on highlighting important turning points and crucial delivery of messages. The contrast reflects the overall theme of contained tension of the characters within the overarching idea of power struggle and gaining favors. I was really impressed by the bold and risky move by the director Yorgos Lanthimos by creating a piece using elements that are unlikely to work together. Audience who really paid attention would surely realize the wit and brilliance put into this film.
