Darkly Funny and Insightful

Jason Reitman's impressive debut feature showcases his ability to combine sarcastic wit with an intense understanding of human emotion. Aaron Eckhart portrays the sardonic and miserable spokesperson for the tobacco industry who begins to come to terms with his gray morality. The film doesn't try to force an anti-smoking message, though the shady ethics of the industry aren't sugarcoated. Rather, it's a darkly funny and very introspective view into the lives of the people operating behind the scenes of the industry.
