I have fond memories of this movie since it was a childhood movie, but finding out the Indian guy wasn't actually Indian was kinda disappointing. I mean, seriously.

Kind of like an ET rip-off but with a robot instead of an alien. The government agents are hilariously inept and the kids and his cute robot best friend easily outwit them. Basic Disney fare.

An OK movie but it wasn't as good as it once was.I remember when I was little, All the kids at school use to love Short Circuit & Johnny 5 & I guess I was hoping it was gonna be as good as I remembered.Steve Guttenberg, Fisher Stevens & Ally Sheedy were a good team but still weren't as good as the team in part 2.Out of both films, Short Circuit 2 was the better version

A clever comedy sci-fi film about a robot with emotions. The effects were decent and screenplay touching. Could have been a model for Wall-E because of Number 5's design. Short Circuit is an entertaining flick for everyone to enjoy.

Somewhat corny and nostalgic in a way that inspires childhood wonder. It's not the most well-made or thoughtful sci-fi film, but it is an iconic and entertaining one.

My childhood love is still there for Johnny 5, but I couldn't believe the amount of language contained in this movie that otherwise would have been perfect for kid-viewage. I can't imagine that adults were the target audience (the plot is fairly moronic and the robot is by far the best actor). I won't trust any 80's PG rated movies in the future.

A great family film for the ages. It's starting to show its age for sure, but it retains enough heart and emotion to soldier on. It's amazing how a robot can show more emotional range than some real-life actors today.

It has been years since I saw this movie. It is funny, thought-provoking and sad at times. Number 5 is a cross between E.T. and Gizmo, how can you go wrong. A good family film but also good for adults.
