A strikingly stylish and nonstop thrill ride of neo-noir, "Sin City" is brutally good.

This is my all-time favorite movie. A gripping and stylish film which presents a surreal world in a noir setting. The originality, emotion and masterful storytelling set it apart from the rest of the crowd. Very few films even approach this masterpiece.

Hartigan: "An old man dies, a young woman lives. Fair trade". Sometimes I love or hate when characters from movies narrator all the time, but in this movie it works so well and it didn't do my head in. The visual's in the movie are so fake at times but I didn't care because the movie sucks you in with it's story and characters so you don't noticed the funny looking backgrounds.

I personally dont see how anyone could not enjoy this epic film. didnt we all love comic books and strips as children? this film literally looks as though you are watching a comic book come to life. definitely on my top 10 list of best films. its great how each story is connected to the others one way or another. visually entertaining and some great action packed violence. sin city lives up to its name!

Despite the moral gray that bathes the themes and plot of this film, the neo-noir look of the film and the odd characters are so fantastically executed that the film is an immersion into a strange and dark world that is creatively fleshed out. As a genre piece it succeeds immensely; as something more, it falls slightly short.

I loved this. It was great to see Elijah Wood doing the cannibal character. Mickey Rourke was perfect. New "noir". This is actually something different and most definitely not for everyone. Plenty of gore and splatter.

The overall visual style makes the film look as if it leapt right out of the pages of the comic it was based on. This inventive look adds a great sense of immersion when watching the film. The three stories are told separately, but meet at a couple of points so that you realize they all happened at different times (think Pulp Fiction). Each story is a noir tale, complete with hard-boiled narration, lots of bloody violence, and a little nudity/sex. I found all three parts to be equally entertaining. They combine to make one fun and memorable experience worth revisiting.

One of the most faithful adaptations of a graphic novel. Word for word. Frame by frame. Thats how faithful it is. Dark and grisly, yet still fun and enjoyable.
