Contains strands of DNA from horror masterminds like John Carpenter, Wes Craven, and David Cronenberg while setting itself far enough apart to avoid being strictly derivative. You'll be severely grossed out, but at the same time entertained.

Slither feels like one of those old monster or creature films back in the 50's & 60's. It's gory, it's absurd at times and it was a solid start for James Gunn as a director.

James Gunn's film is a nice throwback to old school horror, using bucket loads of practical effects over CGI to create the terror. While there is CGI used in the film, the practical work is definitely present and much more effective. The film itself - meh. It's a fine, tough, enjoyable little film. Kind of dumb, but what do you expect?

I'm not a big fan of B movies, I think its just an excuse to be lazy and unimaginative which probably took a lot of the enjoyment out of this one. It's the same story that we've seen in countless other alien invasion movies with a bit of humor thrown in, which is what made this not a complete waste of time.

Funny, gross, not so scary - this a new take on the old body snatchers routine. This horror/comedy hybrid works for me mainly because the actors look like they're having a blast. It's not highbrow, but I enjoyed it.

Slither was not scary at all but had quite a few funny scenes and humorous dialog. The special effects were not great but good enough to watch without dwelling on them. If you want a horror/comedy this one could be good for you.
