Early brilliance flashes across the screen in several scenes in this early Hitchcock film. The dream sequence is brilliant and the final third act is gripping. The downfall of the film is that its too talky at times and, particularly, certain scenes in the middle of the film drag with exposition.

A different Hitchcock film, but still a great experience. The psychoanalysis is dated, but the film is still classic. The Dali-esque dream sequence is the crown jewel in a film set in a mental institution.
