Yes, this is pretty much the cheesiest of the Star Trek films, but it's also a lot of fun. Fans of the original cast will be pleased, as will fans of the 80s. Non trekkies may be left scratching their heads over this one.

Kind of infamous as the Star Trek where they save the whales. It's full of 80's cheese that doesn't really help the often dated Star Trek universe. A pretty slow film, but the earnest environmentally-friendly message pushes things over the top into silliness.

What an awful idea. This movie is one big 80's cliche. The campy humor is, at times, enjoyable, but only to hardcore trekkies and people who get a kick out of watching the Shat work his flirt mojo. Even for a broad sci-fi audience, this one doesn't pass muster.

A wonderful film because it takes the original cast and puts them into a situation that is ripe for comedy: the present. Each cast member has his own moment to shine and get a laugh, but in the end the story still has enough juice to make it interesting.
