Revenge of the siths

Epic space opera film written and directed by George Lucas. It is the sixth and final film released in the Star Wars saga and the third in terms of the series' internal chronology.
The film takes place three years after the onset of the Clone Wars. The Jedi Knights are spread out across the galaxy leading a massive clone army in the war against the Separatists. The Jedi Council dispatches Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi to eliminate the evil General Grievous, leader of the Separatist Army. Meanwhile, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, separated from Kenobi, his former master, grows close to Palpatine, the Chancellor of the Galactic Republic and, unbeknownst to the public, a Sith Lord. Their deepening friendship proves dangerous for the Jedi Order, the galaxy, and Anakin himself, who inevitably …

"Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith" by Yojimbo

It's strange how expectation can colour your view of a film to such a degree; the first time I saw Episode III, I wasn't expecting much and I loved it. The second, I could not see past the glaring imperfections and hated it as a result. Seeing it from a more objective standpoint, Sith, although flawed, definitely does have some good qualities. The problems are still obvious. The opening act is still AWFUL, it's combination of weak quipping, slapstick and the baffling decision to make the main villains (ie the droid army) the comic relief - a decision that can only be justified if you are writing an episode of Road Runner - make the opening of the story look like a particularly childish and peurile cartoon. Things get much better as the mood darkens and elements of the story arc from the …

Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith review

The best of the prequels (Episode I-III). Had a good plot but not enough for Anakin to turn to the dark side. They should have improved the character build-up instead of worrying about the effects. The fight scenes were really impressive and well coordinated. Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor stretched their acting prowess on this one. Ian McDiarmid was splendid with the various roles he played. Unfortunately, you can never feel any remorse when Hayden Christensen portrays an angry Anakin. I felt the prequels as a whole could have been better if Lucas was behind the camera from the very beginning, then the quality of the films would be like this. Some coo lines: Palpatine - "It seems, in your anger, you killed her." Obi-Wan Kenobi - "You were the Chosen One! You were supposed to …

Sith Happens

Finally a prequel film worthy of the original trilogy and not a moment too soon. This is what I had been waiting for - I suffered through Jar-Jar, midi-chlorians, a wooden love story, whiny angst, enough new characters to open a toy store and stilted dialogue galore but, in the end, I think it was worth it.
I think Revenge of the Sith is the perfect way to end the trilogy. Even Hayden Christensen doesn't seem as bad this time around. He has actual emotion here - between him, Portman and McGregor there is a spark. Add in Ian McDiarmid, in full-blown Emperor mode, and you've got a great mix.
If there's any downside the this one, it's that it feels so rushed. You start off with an amazing space battle - in my opinion the best out of any of the films - into a daring rescue mission …

"Rise Lord Vader"

After just watching the first 2 episodes of the Star Wars series (Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones) this movie is definitely the best one out of the first 3 episodes. George Lucas has outdone himself this time giving a real sense of the word "Jedi". In this galactic conquest by the evil Senator Palpatine, Anakin FINALLY decides to join the dark side and become Lord Vader (or as we know him, "Darth Vader"). This movie is released with stunning visual effects. Although, the acting is not ecstatic, the story builds a whole new meaning of the words "Star Wars" and also finally allows us to see the segue into the next Star Wars episode (Return of the Jedi). This movie is great and I recommend it to all Sci-Fi lovers. I give this movie a 4 out of 4.

And a (Sith) legend is born
The M.O.W. - wrote on 08/01/2008
The "Clone Wars" has been going on for three years. And things are starting to drasticly change for the worse.
"Chancellor Palpatine" (Ian McDiarmid) hs been kidnapped, and "Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi" (Ewan McGregor) and his student "Anikan Skywalker" (Hayden Christensen) went in under heavy attack to save him.
But, it turned out to all be a set up. "Palpatine" staged his own kidnapping, as he is the evil "Sith Lord" that "Master Yoda" (voiced by Frank Oz) knew about, but was uncertain of his true identity. What "Yoda," and the rest of the "Jedi Council," do not know is that "Palpatine's" plans include seducing "Skywalker" into joining the "Dark Side" of the "Force," the mysterious energy that binds everything together.
Almost immediately, starting after the opening …

One of Lucas' Greatest

Lucas finally learned something from his ridiculous failures of the first and second prequels he puked up - you can throw as much money, special effects, and hype at a movie as you want – a movie without good acting or a good script is still a bad movie. Considering how bad the first two prequels were, it is even more impressive that he could generate something of Revenge of the Sith's quality (which I actually rate higher than Return of the Jedi, and on par with A New Hope). This movie is surprisingly deep and dark. I found one of the most fascinating aspects of the Sith was the imperfections shown of the Jedi. Instead of the righteous warriors we had seen them as in the first 5 films, this film showed them as elitists, dogmatic, and even perhaps a bit arrogant. If you’re a fan …
