This is a great film. As a buddy movie it is right up there at the top of my list as three people who should not be , but find themselves and each other, as outsiders. Each has a strong and wholly decent personality - but for very different reasons they are marginalised either by their own perception of themselves, or with complexity, by their perception of others perceptions of them. Peter Dinklage is a brilliant actor and I wish the world were different and he was offered mainstream roles. He is a good-reason vegetarian so I rate him even more highly!

A charming film about ordinary characters trying to find happiness amid broken relationships. This is director Tom McCarthy's first film and his later skill at using small moments to highlight deep moments of humanity began here. A hidden gem of 2003.

Charming, wondrous and gentle film which deals with loneliness, friendship and tolerance. Virtually plot less; this is a movie, which tugs at the heartstrings without resorting to over sentimentality. Unashamedly quirky and unassuming, much pleasure is derived from the genuine interaction between the three main protagonists. Genuine world-class acting tour de forces from Peter Dinklage and Patricia Clarkson crown this extraordinary achievement As quaint as they come, The Station Agent is an absolute gem.

Seeing that at one point it was in the top 250 on IMDB, I thought it was going to be a really good movie. Well, I was wrong (and so were the people on IMDB). It is a decent drama at times, but I could not connect to any of the characters.
