It's a sign of our times that there is only one other rating of this movie, and that rating is a "1." Thoughtful movies about the thoughtful craft of writing fiction don't stand a chance against car crashes, zombies and designer shoes. I confess that I, a book lover, had intended to see this movie since it came out eight years ago, and just got around to it today. This film is a well-constructed documentary presented as a mystery unfolding, each piece leading closer to an obscure writer who faded out of sight after his one novel was published, to great reviews, in 1972. Highly recommended, if you can do without glitz and gore and "in your face" for a couple hours.
