Powerful and melancholy portrayal of life for youth in Nazi Germany with jazz music as the backdrop. Standout performances include a young Christian Bale. There are parts of this film that are genuinely haunting and present a unique perspective on growing up during WWII.

This is probably my favorite Holocaust movie. I really enjoy the music and dance. The movie gives a different perspective of the Holocaust, and allows you to see what many of the Germans experienced as a result of the Nazi takover.
