Strange fantasy about a boy joining the adventures of a midget crew of thieves across world history as they try to get rich with a stolen map of the universe. Terry Gilliam's penchant for bizarre visuals and surrealism on full display.

Terry Gilliam's time and space adventure classic is whimsical without being juvenile and never comes up short in terms of imagination.

Time Bandits is my least favorite movie from Terry Gilliam, but keep in mind it's not a terrible movie as I can see Gilliam heart was in the right place at the right time.

I'm pretty sure I watched this when I was a young'un, but I had to revisit this. I thought it was a lot of fun - absurd for sure - but still fun. Terry Gilliam can always be counted on for giving you something... interesting and outside the norm. It shares a lot with Money Python style humor, but is more outlandish (if that's possible). Goes on for a bit too long - but overall, I enjoyed it.

Although it isn't quite consistent with itself and some parts devolve into typical Gilliam absurdism, Time Bandits is a fun and imaginative adventure tale, in the vein of Labyrinth and the Princess Bride. The visuals are vintage Gilliam, the start of the director's flair for unique set pieces, and the film has some smartly written lines.

One of Gilliam's early ones, but best ones. This was truly a magical movie with a plot that was as unexpected as it was original. Absolutely worth seeing.
