"To Catch a Theif" is not one one of Hitchcock's masterpieces, but it doesn't fail to entertain.

I didn't find it particularly involving. It starts off quite strong in the first couple of scenes, but the long middle portion feels drawn out and, at times, slightly boring. The unnecessary romance is most of the cause. Cary Grant is left to charm his way through this section, which barely suffices. It picks up again later in the third act. Some good moments here and there, but ultimately one of the more forgettable in Hitchock's filmography.

There aren't a lot of twists and turns in this more straightforward Hitchcock film, but the smartly-written romance and dialogue between Grace Kelly and Cary Grant is the stuff classic films are made of.

Though frothy and fun, this is about as second-tier as it gets with Hitchcock.

The ending was very predictable. But, the rest of the movie, particularly Grace Kelly's mother, made up for it.

A not particularly thrilling Hitchcock film and seemed a bit like one of those films where those involved felt like taking a vacation. A low rent Hitchcock film for sure since he has made many better ones. This one just plainly fell short. The story just failed to be that interesting. It did seem to be a film that was not the most important part of the production.

Even a lesser Hitchcock is still far from awful. However, this seemed a very lethargic effort on his behalf. He soon redeemed himself at any rate.

Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. Good cast, and obviously great director (Hitchcock) but the plot was so ridiculous!

Very "easy" Hitchock. Not a complex plot at all. I'd say that is a good start into the master.
