Feel-good 1930s song and dance, "Top Hat" is as enchanting as it is entertaining.

This is the epitome of classic Astaire/Rogers pairings. Not only is the score by Irving Berlin memorable, but so are the many pair and solo dance numbers. The plot itself is sort of standard, but, the real star of the film is the dancing, anyway.

A classic Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie. Top Hat is one of the best of the pair. Lots of great dance numbers both for the pair and for Fred by himself. The songs are also interesting. The story is also better then most in this comedy of mistaken identity.

What separates this movie from the rest of the Fred & Gingers is the music by Irving Berlin and Cole Porter. Robert Osborne said that this movie had a very similar plot to their movie before this. Overall, it was just one notch better than their other stuff. Dancing movies aren't usually my thing, but it was fun.
