Torque (2004)

Rebel biker Cary Ford (Martin Henderson) returns to his hometown to face his past demons and reclaim the woman (Monet Mazur) he loves. Ford must first face down a ruthless FBI agent (Adam Scott); and two biker rivals Trey (Ice Cube and Matt Schulze) over a damaged bike. But things become even more complicated when Trey's brother is murdered and all the clues point to Cary forcing him to either run away again or try and clear his name. He chooses the latter.
This movie delivers a lot of what you'd expect: lots of bike races, biker lingo, macho talk, outrageous stunts and scantily clad women - Ain't nuthin' wrong with that as having hot chicks is almost a requirement for this type of film! The first time I saw a preview for this movie it was called "Road Torque" and the first thing out of my mouth is, "Ummmmm the road doesn't have any torque... the machine does". So yeah I knew this movie was going to be horrible from the start, and when they changed the name to just "Torque" it didn't change the fact that it was going to be a bad movie.
The action scenes do not require suspense of disbelief, but suspense of all rational thought. Why cant the movie industry realize that all bikers are not Gun totin,Drug dealin, murdering gang members? The stunts are silly. Stoppies into trees, Fighting on bikes at over 120 mph, jumping onto a train? There is a scene where the bikers are on a train jumping from one trainwagon to another without their front or rear wheels getting caught, …
